Scandi chic

Scandinavian crime is just getting bigger. Books, tv and film - it’s all so well made and TB is addicted. The dark, gloomy settings all with rather serious, quirky characters as seen and read in The Bridge, The Killing, The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo... they have proven huge hits with us Brits, perfectly serving as an antidote to the otherwise often formulaic and americanised world of culture.

So what about that knitted jumper? Well, Scandinavian fashion and interior is anything but bland. Although traditionally famed for it’s streamlined and functional white colour schemes (see IKEA or COS) it can also be fabulously vibrant, both in patterns and colours which serve to offset the Scandinavian love of pale interiors. Scandinavians are proud people with a strong sense of identity, which really shines through in their design. If they were lacking a sense of humour, you wouldn’t know it! We love its cool style, affordable design and bright colours. Here are some newcomers on our books that we are particularly proud of.

By Malene Birger Lytra Blouse, Grass Green - Extremely feminine cotton and silk shirt, which comes with beautiful front pleating. Another versatile shirt from By Mal…

Alabaster Tray, from Ary - Alabasta, from Ary Trays is a brand new collection designed by British textile designer Asta Barrington, who has created…
So cool it is hot. And no, never boring.
