Shimmer and shine baby

Feels a bit odd discussing this in springtime, but the sparkly stuff really is everywhere this season. It’s slowly been creeping up on us hasn’t it? It was only recently that it felt a bit cheap and mainly for Christmas. We are still talking parties with blocks of coloured sequins and shimmering patterned dresses, but this trend is perfectly possible to tone down during the day using key accessories and subtle shiny pieces. Our own gold trousers are a case in point. TB is a big fan!

To wear skinny jeans you need skinny genes

OK, so if that’s true why do I love my colourful new skinny jeans so much?  A quick check among the local ladies of style do indicate that so do they. I have never seen so many bright legs in one small place. Yellow, blue, orange, green…. Coloured jeans have been around for years, but they really are only going universal this spring.  Everyone is having a go.

It’s a fact that thin thighs work (yes, let’s face it) better with tight trousers, or indeed pretty much with anything. But we won’t be defeated. Tunics, long denim shirts, chunky knits, boyfriend cardigans - in fact anything that covers hips and at least half of the bottom – is very forgiving and allows any woman to rock colourful, skinny jeans. Bring it on.

And high five for spring!
