Winter Wonderland!

It’s strange how Christmas seems to come around so quickly after the summer holidays these days. We could blame the media advertising whose sole purpose appear to whip up a frenzy and hard sell Christmas as soon as Bonfire night is out of the way!

It’s also easy to get a bit jaded with all the twinkle and tinsel. However, at Travelling Bazaar we like to take things a bit easier and get into Christmas shopping in a calmer, more pleasurable way which hopefully will make you feel happy and relaxed rather than stressed and distressed.

We have just finalised our offerings for Christmas and revamped our showroom into Winter Wonderland and have to say: It’s looking good! We are at The Kiln, Penn Croft Farm, Crondall, GU10 5PX on 23-26 November.

We have tried to think about ‘something for everyone’ and have put together a really fantastic selection of gifts for every taste, age and pockets.
We couldn’t resist the pieces for the children - it’s hard to find unique items out there and we have sourced some great bits for the stocking. Just hope our children don’t visit the showroom, or they might get a bit surprised when the same things pop up in their stocking from Santa!

Sagaform tumblers
There are plenty of other Christmas goodies in stock. We don’t want to give too much away, but our selection of affordable Scandinavian carafes and tumblers are looking so right and would be perfect and unique gifts for anyone, except maybe the baby or the dog…. There is also ceramics, lovely foody bits and some great stationery and leather accessories.

If you are more interested in getting kitted out yourself, on the clothing side we are now also stocking a brand from Denmark; Cream, which is very reasonably priced, good quality and has that international edge and detail.

For the cold winter days there are very desirable Aiglecoats as well as Sorel boots; trendy, beautifully made and durable. These are proving to be bestsellers!

We could go on, but actually, it’s best just to come and see everything for your selves. We are really looking forward to having you here this week - we’ll help you sort out your Christmas gift needs while having a lovely time!

Is there any yellow in your life?

TB has always liked colour and we are right in the middle of an obsession with the bright stuff. We love neutrals and most of our bestsellers are of the cream/camel/khaki variety, but we are noticing how much more they stand out when offset with something bright. And what goes better with those classic autumnal colours than a splash of yellow?

Think a soft lemon scarf with the camel cape or a pair of mustard mittens under the grey poncho. While kicking up leaves walking the dog, the children or the mother-in-law (or is that just me?)…. I don’t know about you but it would certainly add fizz to my Sunday walk!

Joseph is currently doing the look to perfection with its store display of charcoal cardigans and skirts mixed with canary yellow scarves. Gorgeous!

Yellow don’t work for all, but there is certainly a shade for almost everyone.
And if you just feel too pale, move away from the obvious scarf or hat and go for a pair of mittens or a belt. TB have these lovely bright wool mittens in stock for winter.

A colour-shock yellow clutch would look so right and up-to-date with a dark work suit. Not just for spring.  We love this vibrant Marc Jacobs clutch, although there are plenty of other clutches out there in varying price ranges!
Yellow is great for the house too, particularly the kitchen. We really fancy our own yellow magnetic wall organiser from Pantone.  Again, just have fun with a pop of colour if you are otherwise prone to neutrals. We hope we have convinced you to try the bright stuff throughout the dark months.

Look out for yellow and other splashes of colour in our fashion and homeware autumn/winter collection!
